At Remedy Hairdressing Academy we are passionate about gents hairdressing and after many years in the Barbering industry we still get excited about a great haircut.
This is why we opened our Barbering Academy, we want to share our skill and passion. We believe we have the ability, the enthusiasm, experience and desire to deliver the best in Barbering training.

Remedy Hairdressing Academy is an independent company based in Leeds City Centre committed to providing training of the highest standards in its specialist area of Barbering. Since it's opening in 2006 Remedy has been growing dramatically as a salon and now a respected Academy.
We are now offering barbering courses in a real working city centre salon dealing with real customers. HOW MANY DELEGATES WILL BE ON THE COURSE ? Thats up to you. You could if you wanted have a 1 to 1 day course. This exclusive course would follow the same format as a group session, the difference being you would have the trainer focusing on you and no one else. This is a great way to have a really focused, challenging and fun hands on day. All courses are available on 1 to 1 basis. At Remedy we'll only accept a maximum of 3 course members at any given time. We can then really give you as individuals the time and commitment required.

WHERE WILL I BE DOING MY TRAINING ? The day will be spent at our City Centre Salon. It's a real Salon, not a college environment. At times we'll be working on the academy floor, others on the salon floors. There is a unique and fun buzz about the place. Remedy is located centrally just 5 mins from the Leeds train station or the bus station. It is next door to Sela Bar and North Bar. We try to discourage lunch time visits there, but once 5pm arrives.... WHERE WILL I BE DOING MY TRAINING ? We'll start at 9, have an hour for lunch and finish at 5ish. A deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is required on or before the day of the course.

IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR ME OR ANY MEMBERS OF MY TEAM ? We developed this course for in industry hairdressers. Not just barbers! We really feel this one day course is suitable for stylists who may focus on ladies hairdressing too. You don't need loads of experience, if you are new to industry or have years of cutting under your belt, this course will work for you. Can you hold a pair of scissors? If so, its for you. WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS COURSE ? To send you back to your salon with some great new techniques, some new ideas and approaches to your barbering. We'll look at some really effective ways of sharpening up your cutting and styling skills and bring the attention to detail back
We'll get you inspired and motivated to be the best at what you do.
Ultimately we want you to leave us with a renewed confidence in your ability, a desire to improve your cutting skills with each and every single client you do and to again appreciate the real art of gents hairdressing. WILL WE BE DOING PRACTICAL TRAINING? All Remedy's courses are really hands on. This is how we learn.
We'll be cutting and styling most of the day.
In the morning we'll work together on some cuts and techniques and finishing skills, the afternoon the trainers will take a step back and admire youre work all the while giving hints and tips to create a beautiful haircut.

IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR ME OR ANY MEMBERS OF MY TEAM ? Like the one day course we developed this course for in industry hairdressers. Again not just barbers! We really feel this two day course is suitable for stylist who may focus on ladies hairdressing too.
We'll be focusing on more technical detail. We'll get a good look at your skills, asses them see how together we can improve them. We'll have the time to work on some techniques that may not be your strongest skills.
It's not necessary to have years of experience in hairdressing for this two day course, but we advise that the candidate should have experience on the salon floor. WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS COURSE ? We want you to finish this two day course with new skills, improved existing skills and a renewed confidence in your ability as a barber, have a better understanding of shape, lines and the importance of attention to detail in all aspects of top quality barbering.
It is our goal to send you on your way an even better gents hairdresser. Whether it's an immaculate classic cut or the most creative of shapes your work will be of quality. WILL WE BE DOING PRACTICAL TRAINING, AND WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE? All Remedy's courses are really hands on. Thats how we learn.
We'll be cutting for most of the two days.
The first morning we'll work together on some cuts, techniques and finishing skills, We'll then be able to access your work. During the first afternoon we'll have a brief discussion about your work then back to the scissors and models for some quality hairdressing, it's during this afternoon session that we'll create some first class haircuts. The second day is all about real attention to detail, about turning your good haircut into a great haircut. We'll get involved with the subtleties of beautiful barbering and end the day with strong piece of work and then a well deseversed cold beer.

2 - day Course

You don't need loads of experience, you maybe new to the industry and fancy giving yourself a head start, or you may have years of cutting under your belt and feel you and your work could do with a little energizing. WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS COURSE ? You'll complete this three day course with great new skills, improved existing skills and an absolute confidence in your ability as a barber, you'll certainly have a full understanding of shape, lines and the importance of attention to detail in all aspects of top quality barbering.
It is our goal to send you on your way an excellent gents hairdresser.
We want your clients and colleagues to notice a real difference in your salon And they will !!
Whether it's an immaculate classic cut or the most creative of shapes your work will be of quality. WILL WE BE DOING PRACTICAL TRAINING, AND WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE? All Remedy's courses are really hands on. This is how we learn.
We'll be cutting for most of the three days. Be warned there may be a bit of theory and a little home work !!
The first morning we'll get to know each other and chat about your objectives.
We'll have a look at your work, skills and techniques.
From there on its all about cutting, styling and finishing. Learning and bouncing ideas off each other and having a great time doing so.
Our experience tells us that the three day course works best less structured and more fluid. We believe this way we have an opportunity to get to know the real hairdresser in you.
The final afternoon is a bit different. This is where you have chance to show off your superb barbering skills. The final piece of work will be a First Class cut and finish.
A professional photographer will be brought in to take some cool shots of your work. Once edited we'll get them sent over to you along with a Certificate of Excellence from The Remedy Hairdressing Academy.

3 - day Course

1 to 1 Course £450

This course is different to any other course at Remedy Hairdressing Academy. If you want a career in this wonderful and rewarding industry this is a perfect way to start. Being part of a real salon environment for the entire course means that you will go to your first interview with the essential skills and experience under your belt. The 15 - week course trains you to be a barber / gents hairdresser. Even if you haven't held a pair of scissors before or picked up a hairdryer we will make you great gents hairdresser.
The fifteen week course is a complete training package, and will consist of 4 full days a week training. 60 days of intense hairdressing completed with the Remedy Hairdressing Academy Certficate.
During your course you'll complete a 2 - day shaving program. Our cut-throat specialist will teach you the practical and theoretic aspects of this much sought after skill.
This course is only available to the really committed delegate, it's pretty intense and at times hard work. There will be a certain amount of theory work to complete.
But when things get a little tough we'll be there to see you through. We promise you it will be rewarding, challenging, inspiring and great fun.
Before a candidate is accepted on this course an informal interview will take place. This is for your benefit also, we want to make sure that this is the right course for you.

15 - week Course

Our two day Shaving course is available on 1 to 1 basis only.
You will learn the wonderful of skill of open blade shaving ( cut-throat razor).
The pre shave treatment, the hot towel process, the shave and post shave are all part of our course.
